Serving Amount

  • Serves 4

  • 1 block (14 oz) firm tofu, drained and cubed
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 1 small broccoli head, cut into florets
  • 1 cup snap peas
  • 1/2 cup baby corn, halved
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish

1. Tofu Preparation

In a bowl, toss the cubed tofu with soy sauce, sesame oil, and cornstarch until evenly coated. Set aside.

2. Stir-Frying Tofu

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the tofu and stir-fry until golden and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove tofu from the skillet and set aside.

3. Cooking Vegetables

In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Stir in minced garlic and grated ginger, and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

4. Vegetable Addition

Add bell pepper, carrot, broccoli florets, snap peas, and baby corn. Stir-fry for 5-8 minutes or until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.

5. Combining Tofu and Vegetables

Return the tofu to the skillet with the vegetables. Pour in hoisin sauce, and season with salt and pepper. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.

6. Final Touches

Cook for an additional 2 minutes, ensuring everything is heated through and coated with the sauce.

7. Garnishing

Sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped green onions over the stir-fry before serving.

Serve this colorful and flavorful Vegetable Stir-Fry with Tofu hot. It pairs wonderfully with a side of steamed rice or noodles. Enjoy a meal that's not only pleasing to the palate but also nourishing to the body.
