Time:

  • Prep Time: 40 minutes (including marinating time)
  • Cook Time: 10 minutes
  • Total Time: 50 minutes

Serving Amount:

  • Serves: 4

Ingredients:

  • 1 block (14 oz) firm tofu
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Salt to taste

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Tofu:

Press the tofu for 30 minutes to remove excess water. Slice into four 1/2-inch thick steaks.

2. Marinate the Tofu:

In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, paprika, black pepper, and oregano. Place the tofu steaks in the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes.

3. Grill the Tofu:

Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Place the marinated tofu steaks on the grill. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until they have nice grill marks.

4. Cook the Vegetables:

While the tofu is grilling, heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the sliced bell pepper, julienned carrot, and broccoli florets. Stir-fry the vegetables until they are tender but still crisp, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt to taste.

5. Serve:

Arrange the grilled tofu steaks on plates and serve alongside the stir-fried vegetables.

Serving Suggestions:

Garnish with sesame seeds or a squeeze of fresh lemon juice for an extra zing. This dish pairs well with a light soup or a fresh salad.
